What this is

An archive of things people were never supposed to read together.

The Obsidian Registry is a collection of original fiction built on top of real, documented history. Every file takes something that is on the record, a declassified program, a court verdict, a scientific study, a museum object, and asks what it would have cost a real person to stand next to it.

The facts are real and cited. Each file ends with a numbered list of sources so you can check every one. The characters, their families, their bargains, and their endings are invented. Where real public figures appear, they appear in the documented roles history gave them.

We built it for readers who are tired of being told that the strange parts of history are boring, and tired of being sold conspiracies with nothing behind them. Here the line between fact and fiction is drawn in red ink, on every page, on purpose. Crossing it is your choice.

What it is not

It is not news, investigative journalism, or a source of advice of any kind. It does not claim that any supernatural event in it happened. It does not accuse any real living person of anything. If a file ever makes you want to look away, that is the point. If it ever makes you want to hurt yourself, please stop reading and call or text 988 in the U.S., or your local emergency number.
